Troymet Identifies Structures on Key Project
June 10, 2010 - Troymet Exploration Corp. (TSXV:TYE) (“Troymet” or the “Company”) is pleased to update exploration progress on its 100% owned, 7,882-hectare Key property, which is located 125 km southwest of Vanderhoof, British Columbia.Exploration crews mobilized to the property in mid-May to commence reconnaissance prospecting and sampling of gold targets identified by a VTEM survey, including four electromagnetic (EM) targets, which potentially represent structurally-controlled sulphide-alteration zones. As well, two large intrusions were identified by the VTEM survey and these are being explored for gold and/or copper mineralization.
Previous exploration of the project area did not explore for gold. The objective of the current phase of the exploration program is to assess the prospectiveness of the major structures on the property and to help identify additional drill targets.
Initial results from the field program are encouraging. Prospecting has confirmed the validity of the VTEM targets, and major structural features outlined by the VTEM survey have been located and sampled where exposed. Historic showings on the property have also been located and appear to be structurally controlled. As well, preliminary investigation of a broad geochemical trend of anomalous zinc, copper, lead, arsenic and silver values through the central part of the property also points toward a relation to major northerly-trending structures.
The Company believes a number of major structures continue from the Key project onto the adjoining Blackwater project of Richfield Ventures Corp. where a bulk gold deposit has been discovered (September 25, 2009 news release).
